Corduroy and Denim

Wale is used to describe the number of ribs in the cordurouy, per inch.
We tend to have 3 types of cord.

Needlecord : 21 wale – fine, perfect for shirts and tops too as it’s drapes well)
Corduroy : 8 wale – trousers, dungarees, structured clothes. Also our Luxe Tote is made from this.
Jumbo cord : 4 wale – cushions spring to mind first but we did do the Luxe and have made clothes. It’s a soft handle which lends itself to textured soft furnishings well.

Denim weights are commonly used in ounces, such as 4oz, 8oz and 12oz. 8oz would be your ‘usual’ jeans weight, 4oz a lighter weight chambray and 12oz a much heavier, can be stiff weight – making bags is a possibility.
