Cotton ~ Quilting and Poplin

Quilting cotton and cotton poplin have a narrower width compared to dressmaking fabrics, usually 110cm wide / 44inches. 100% cotton.

Poplins have fine threads, which results in a lighter weight fabric, lovely and crisp when pressed. Good for dressmaking and quilting.
Quilting cottons are heavier than poplins, medium weight fabric. Traditionally used by quilters, but also very much used in dressmaking too.

There's been a tragic fire in our building, currently we have no access to our shop and the stock isn't salvageable. It's early days and we have every hope to return, but this is going to be a long process. Bear with us while we work out where we go from here. Thank you for all your messages, they were lovingly received. Fiona & Marice
Oct 2024 UPDATE : we have access, however the entire shop has deteriorated, in the months of no access. Mould and damp have taken over. Currently emptying contents, until the roof has been reinstated, the shop cannot be repaired as not water tight.
