Ditch the plastic and paper in favour for a more luxurious wrap! Reusable gift bag, gift card envelope and bottle bag. Not just for Christmas, these can be circulated in your family, passed around friends and sew in any fabrics for your gift giving.
This workshop is designed for new sewers – or those just wanting to learn new skills. We will be creating three reusable gift bags: – Gift Card Envelope: Ideal for book tokens, gift vouchers or cash gifts – Drawstring Bag: Great for small or large gifts – Bottle Bag: Perfect for gifting festive drinks! All equipment and materials are provided – we will be using Christmas Fat Quarter packs supplied by The Wee Fabric Shop, Inverness . Each pack contains 4 patterned fabrics and 2 plains – enough for the workshop & more! We will cover: – Cutting fabric – Using Interfacing – Setting up the machines – Sewing Straight Seams – Sewing Skills including adding drawstrings, using buttons, neat finishing
In this 3 hour session you will be making a drawstring bag, gift card envelope and bottle bag. You will receive a fat quarter pack of 4 x Christmas prints and 2 x plain. There is more than enough in this pack to make the items and make more at home.
It is a relaxed, fun class, where we want you to enjoy your experience. You will guided through every step.
- During the session you will be diving straight in cutting fabric, Using interfacing, Sewing straight seams
- Skills learnt will be adding lining, drawstrings, using buttons and neat finishing.
- Everything is provided for you. Including a Christmas fat quarter pack of 1.5mtrs of fabric worth £19.
- Use of our equipment and sewing machines.
- Tea and coffee will be provided.

IMPORTANT : From 2021, classes are no longer refundable. There is a lot of work to be done before you arrive at your class. Preparation and time, materials sourced and paid for, fabrics cut to size (this does take more time than you would expect), instructions written / printed out, thread matched, bobbins wound, and Tutors paid. Class sizes are small and everything is costed. For this reason we are also unable to transfer your place to another class. You may send someone in your place, just let us know their name and contact details in advance please.
