Learn to machine sew a tote bag in our ‘absolute’ beginners class.
BEGINNERS SEWING : TOTE BAG ~ 2 hour class £ 35
This class is for those who have never sewn before (or not in years and are a little rusty) and who would like to try your hand at sewing without committing to a course. It is a relaxed, fun class, where we want you to enjoy your experience. You will not be expected to know anything about sewing. Perfect to grab a friend and spend some time learning something new!
- During the session you will be diving straight in sewing straight lines!
- Learning the basics about stitching and constructing seams to create your fabulous tote bag.
- Ask as many questions as you like as you sew along, we want you to find your sewing style, there’s always more than one way to get the same outcome.
- Everything is provided for you, the fabric will be pre cut, ready for you to enjoy sewing. (Fabric may not be the same as the photograph)
- Use of our equipment and sewing machines.
- Measuring gauge tool to use and take home so you can carry on making more totes!
- Instructions to take away.
Sewing a two-tone drawstring bag, a great addition to your repertoire ~ super for using smaller pieces of beautiful fabric, fabulous for gifting, as well as reusable and good for keeping together those loose items in your (hand)bag.
DRAWSTRING BAG : 2 hour class ~ £35
Session includes fabrics to create 2 qty drawstring bags, one of which will be sewn in class and the second to take home to make. It is a relaxed, fun class, where we want you to enjoy your experience. You will guided through every step.
- During the session you will be diving straight in sewing straight lines!
- Using different sewing feet to get accurate top stitching, learning how to sew box corners and creating the channel for the drawstring, as well as lining your bag too.
- Everything is provided for you, the fabric will be pre-cut, ready for you to enjoy sewing straight away.
- Use of our equipment and sewing machines.
- Instructions to take away.
This class is for you: If you have basic sewing experience, have completed our beginners Tote Bag class or already know your way around the machine and looking forward to sewing socially again!
Adding a new technique to your repertoire, zip insertion.
SIMPLE ZIPPED POUCHES : 2 hours ~ £35
The session includes all materials to make two zipped pouches, both of which will be sewn in class. Our style of classes are relaxed and fun, where we want you to enjoy your experience. You will guided through every step.
- How to place and sew a zip, which foot to use and needle position.
- Adding lining.
- Everything is provided for you, the fabric will be pre-cut, ready for you to enjoy sewing straight away.
- Use of our equipment and sewing machines.
- Instructions to take away.
This class is for you: If you have basic sewing experience, have completed our beginners Tote Bag class or already know your way around the machine and looking forward to sewing socially again!
Practical storage, learning boxed corners and using an interlining.
FABRIC BASKET : 2 hours ~ £35
The fabric basket is a great one to learn, with it’s many uses from storage to a hamper for birthdays, new borns, and especially useful at Christmas time.
- All fabrics will be precut ready for you to sew.
- Guided through the construction of making the outer, lining and joining.
- Sewing with an interlining.
- Shown a simple way of achieving box corners.
- Use of our equipment and sewing machines.
- Instructions, with photographs, to take away.
