Sewing Tea Towels.

We decided to spruce up our wee kitchen here at the shop with some new tea towels made from white waffle we had left over from a project. The fabric was pre-washed and added some binding, cotton tape for hanging and a cute wee handmade button.

Using what we had leftover, we cut the waffle around 40cm wide x 60cm long. The teal bias binding was a perfect match to liven up the plain towelling, which was machine sewn on. A perfectly chosed Handmade button to finish it off.

We ended up with 3 towels, in teal, read and taupe, each with matching buttons. The red and taupe we sewed a hanging loop on using the binding.

AND … you don’t have to stick with white, why not use a coloured one.

Waffle is 148cm wide. 100% Cotton. Machine washable & Tumble drier friendly.

Great projects for waffle are dressing gowns, like the Merchant and Mills Sunday Pattern and for you tiny leftovers, sew them into face scrubbies.
